What we do: Operation School Bell®
Assistance League® of Mid Missouri’s Operation School Bell program provides new winter clothing to children whose school attendance and performance have been adversely affected by lack of suitable clothing. The goal of Operation School Bell is to increase the self-esteem of the child and to encourage regular school attendance. School personnel identify and refer children to this program. In 2008, Assistance League provided clothing to over 1100 children. Since the program’s inception in 1997, over 7000 children have been served. Operation School Bell is currently the largest philanthropic program provided by Assistance League.
